I was shopping in one of my favorite stores, Napa Valley Vintage Home, when I spotted these cool handmade Christmas spice topiaries! Aren’t they pretty?

These decorations are all handmade but what’s unique about it is that they are made without the use of glue or styrofoam! They are made by an Austrian lady named Ida.
They are adorned with cloves, cinnamon, star anise, pine cones, nuts, and gold and silver filigree!
This mixture creates a very nice aroma!
They are in the old style of the Austrian Biedermeir period which is probably why I liked them!
I am always searching for unique things that one cannot find in a big box store and these “fit the bill” exactly. They are made by Salzburg Creations.
Also, I was not paid to write about these or about my favorite store. I just like them and thought I would spread the word.
They are lovely, and yes, I can imagine the wonderful fragrance. Do you know how she makes them without the use of glue or styrofoam? As a child, I made them using fruits.
Beautiful dining room! Merry, Merry!
Now, I think she puts a pinecone in the center and then tucks various things into them.
I'm curious now. How ARE they made? I've made ornaments of an applesauce and cinnamon dough that lasted for years and kept their smell-I still use the ones that I made over 5 years ago.
I *think* she puts a pinecone in the center and then tucks various things in them. Those ornaments you made sound like they smell *lovely*
