This is one of the spots in my house that I like to sit and read a book.

It is perfect because there is natural light from the window. There are also two chairs to sit in – one if you are feeling like you need to have good posture (the antique French chair) – or a couch that you can lay back and relax on.
Creating your own romantic reading nook is simple.
You just need a pretty throw, some flowers (fresh or faux!), a nice smelling candle, and a cup of tea or coffee!
I have here one of my favorite flowers – ranunculus. I didn’t use them too frequently until when I used them in my wedding bouquet – now they are one of my favorites!
I am burning my absolute favorite candle – Baies. The smell of roses fills the air. There is a cheaper copycat version of my favorite candle here – and yes, I use this one too!
I have a teacup here too – a vintage one, but you can use any mug or cup!
This French table was one of my first antiques I bought right out of college – my Mom was surprised when I gravitated towards this Louis XV style table with gilding!!
The lamp by the way just has an antique Staffordshire figure sitting on the base. It is not attached.
Here are a few of my favorite books that I have been reading…
A Day in the Life with Marie Antoinette
This book is a gorgeous book (the one that is in my pictures above). If you love Versailles or Marie Antoinette Style you have to check out this book!
Traditional Interiors by Leta Austin Foster
I love her work as an interior designer. If you love Traditional style with a touch of English, French, or Gustavian – this book is for you!
Beautiful by Mark Sikes
He runs a very popular blog and he came out with this book that every one is praising about. For me, it is not quite *my* style but the book is beautiful nonetheless!
Macarons by Pierre Herme
If you love macarons as much as me, you have to try this book! I just bought it and am eager to make my first recipe!
