A Summer farmhouse kitchen. Or should I call it a midsummer kitchen? Either way, it’s a kitchen with sunflowers! Keeping it clean using the sunflowers as a pop of color.
First though, lay the flowers in the sink, take a picture. Then I trimmed them. I love the “flowers-in-the-sink” type of picture with farmhouse sinks! I don’t know what it is… seems so appropriate for a farmhouse sink.
Some faux sunflowers sit high up on the hood range mantel with the roosting ceramic chickens. A Summer farmhouse kitchen.
We had intended to plant sunflowers this year, but we forgot. We’ve been super busy. (That’s also why I decreased the amount of posting on the blog for the meantime and readership is down because everyone else is busy too! )
I thought life was going to be slower since we moved into our house. But then we decided to build a pool and pool house… which isn’t ready yet even though it’s midsummer…. harrumph!!! Oh well, we can wait.
There’s still plenty of work to do inside. In the mean time though, I’ll take a moment to relax and stop to smell the roses sunflowers.

yes me too!
Such a beautiful flower! They just add that special brightness and cheerfulness to a room, kitchen, dining table or wherever in the house or outside on the table. The different varieties are also lovely, I grew some 2 years ago and even leaving them in the garden for the seeds to ripen is a novelty. So many things to enjoy in nature and it does not cost a fortune!

There are so many lovely varieties of sunflowers! I almost bought the ones with the greener center. I love watching them grow so big from the garden… so fun planting them from a tiny seed and watching them get to 6 feet!
Does life ever really slow down? It doesn’t seem like it.
Love your sunflowers. They are the quintessential summer flower.
