A traditional Thanksgiving table setting.  Traditions. Isn’t that what holidays are about? This year I’m participating in a Thanksgiving Tablescapes, Dining Rooms and Kitchens Blog Hop. Perhaps the start of a new tradition.

This hop was arranged by Amber at Follow The Yellow Brick Home.  If you are coming from Laura at Decor To Adorewelcome! Don’t you love her tartan tablecloth?

What is your Thanksgiving tradition?  My husband and I started hosting Thanksgiving in 2012.  He loves to cook and is good at it.  I like to bake, however he still bakes the pecan pie!  We also usually hold Thanksgiving not on Thanksgiving, due to work schedules.

While I am not the chef, I do love to set the table! Every year I’ve used Spode Woodland plates for Thanksgiving and this year is no different.  I’ve placed my Staub pumpkin cocottes on each place setting because they are just too cute.  Although we don’t have enough cocottes to use on Thanksgiving day – we usually have about 30 people over!

I embraced the warmer colors of Fall for this traditional Thanksgiving table setting.  Harvest wheat and pumpkins decorate the center.  Tom the Turkey always sits in the center with his two pheasant friends next to him.

Mini turkey place card holders sit in front of each place setting.  The place cards themselves were design by my Mom using antique ephemera.

We bought these pheasants years ago at Williams Sonoma.  I noticed the local WS still has one – but it is listed NFS! Apparently they liked it too.

I’ll have to change this table when the actual company arrives… we have to cram everyone in and somehow squeeze 30 people in here! But it was fun setting up this traditional table!

This woodlands inspired tablescape is gorgeous! That pattern has always been one of my all-time favorites. I love the place card holders your Mom made too. What a great gift to be able to use those on such an important holiday. Everything is really beautiful. I hope you and your family and friends all have a fun time celebrating together, hugs, CoCo

I love your table! Is that a tapestry underneath?! It’s fantastic! Actually, everything is beautiful even if it only stays for a short time. And 30 people – Oh my! I can’t imagine having 30 people over but it makes me smile knowing that many people are loved and cared for. Happy Thanksgiving!

    Angelina,
Beautiful… I love that your dining room has a fireplace. We had our first fire of the season last night when we also experienced our first frost this Fall. Your dining room looks cozy for days like this. How fortunate your husband likes to cook and helps with hosting 30 people!

    Happy Thanksgiving,

    Judith

Wish I had a fireplace in the dining room too! Really ups the cozy and warm factor. My family teases me every year that I use place cards and own all different kinds of card holders. I love fine stationary products. But, your mom’s creations top anything I’ve ever purchased. Very special! With a gang, I like place cards to mix everyone up — especially when we have family from both sides visiting. In the end, they all like to come and see which table they are seated at and with whom.
