I was sitting over here thinking about how much I dislike January… it’s cold. The days are short. The weather sucks… (it rained all weekend and was sooo windy, we lost power for several hours!). The house looks so empty after Christmas is taken down.  And then the Golden Globes came on. Ok, the show was boring, but I don’t ever watch it for the show… I watch it for the FASHION!

So, it reminded me of something I heard once, when someone was asked “What is your favorite season?” and the guy replies “AWARDS SEASON!!!!”.

Emily Blunt in Alexander McQueen

Halle Berry in Zuhair Murad

Isla Fisher in Monique Lhuillier

Allison Janey in Christian Siriano. Every time I see Christian Siriano’s designs, I still can’t believe he was on Project Runway! I remember his season so well!

Danai Gurira in Rodarte. The way this dress looks when she moves is stunning!

Lady Gaga in Valentino. Not a fan on the blue hair but am a fan of the dress!

Catherine Zita Jones in Elie Saab

Lupita Nyong’o in Calvin Klein. Love how this dress moved!

Kristen Bell in Zuhair Murad. I feel her pouty poses ruin the look a little bit… I couldn’t find a single picture of her smiling in it!

Julia Roberts in Stella McCartney

Kiki Layne in Dior

Janelle Monae in Chanel. I know a lot of you won’t like this one either, but I love Chanel!

Constance Wu in Vera Wang

Gemma Chan in Valentino

Penelope Cruz in Ralph and Russo

Sofia Carson in Giambattista Valli. I know most won’t like this dress, but I love it! Not too many people could pull this off!

Octavia Spencer by Christian Siriano.  I love this dress, something I would wear!

Best Dressed goes to… Charlize Theron in Dior!

This look is so chic, can’t go wrong with black and white!

And I think the most talked about fashion item from the show was…. Timothee Chamolet’s outfit by Louis Vuitton.  The designer is calling it a “French bib”.  I think it looks like fancy suspenders.

I to, hate January it lasts forever!!! The Globes were soooo boring. I did not like many of the dresses. I agree that Charlize was the best. I did love the Carol Burnett tribute, she was so sincere.

I actually did not end up watching the Globes… I had it recorded, and I saw some video clips of celebrities, but from what I read was that it was horribly boring so I have chosen not to watch it. Frankly, I think the fashion was a little boring too, there I said it.

I agree January is cold and dreary, but it is my birthday month and I love snuggling in by the fire and being at home. Guess I’m easily entertained with reading and stitching, but honestly I love this time of year.
We don’t ever turn on our TV except for Masterpiece Theatre series. I’m eager for Victoria and Albert to start again. I’m spending time cleaning out clutter and organizing closets. I’m not finished, but I’ve made great progress!
As for the fashion, I’m pleasantly surprised at how modest each one is. I like that! 😊

I have been passing the time reading…. a book a day! Yes! I am a super fast reader, I’ve read 8 books so far. And I had completely forgotten about victoria and albert, I can’t wait for it! Happy Birthday!

Taped the golden globes and then watched it. I agree with everyone that thought the fashion was boring this year. I loved Julia Roberts look as well as Charlize Theron’s. I fast forwarded through anything political or anything I found uninteresting. So yes it was a very disappointing experience. The award shows are just a total let down anymore. I used to anxiously await award season. Not anymore.
Spring will be here before you know it!
