Have you ever heard of microneedling? Microneedling uses tiny little needles to penetrate the skin so that beauty products can more deeply seep into the skin AND at the same time it causes a boost in collagen growth.
You can do this at a dermatology clinic for hundreds of dollars each session, or you can do it at home yourself with the BeautyBio Glopro! (PS – not a paid or sponsored post here!)
The BeautyBio Glopro has three tools built into one: the red LED light (helps boost collaged production), the micro needling roller, and a vibrating aspect.
When I first read about the GloPro, my biggest concern was…
DOES IT HURT?!?!
No, it does not hurt! I PROMISE! It felt a little weird at first since I didn’t know what to expect, but I promise it does not hurt.
DOES IT WORK?!
YES! I swear it does! My skin is so much smoother! It seems fresher and dewier in appearance, and my acne scars have gone down. I also have fewer pimples! I do it 2x per week. The recommendation is 3x per week but I’m working my way up to it. I have been doing it 2x a week for 9 weeks now!
What skin products do you use with it?
BeautyBio sells a whole kit that comes with starter samples of the regimen with the GloPro… however since I’m pregnant, I cannot use anything with Retinoids in it. Once I have my baby, I plan to use the whole kit.
Here is my pregnant skin regimen (AKA sensitive skin regimen!)
1. I cleanse my skin with what came in the kit, the pH balancing cleanser. Once I run out of this, I probably won’t repurchase it and will use other cleansers I have.
2. Next I prep my face with the BeautyBio Prep Pads before I use my GloPro. I think this is a must have as it really cleans the skin and I have already repurchased it.
3. Then I micro needle for about 1 minute.
4. Next, I use a serum. This does alternate depending on “my mood”.
I would say, most nights I will first use Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate.
Followed by Ultra Repair Hydrating Serum – this helps reduce redness!
Then, if my skin seems a little bit drier I will use my Kiehl’s Ultra Face Cream.
Sometimes I use The Ordinary Buffet serum right after microneedling. I will say I do use this serum almost every morning before I put on makeup and then I follow every morning with Kiehl’s Ultra Face Cream and then
You can get the Microneedling tool separately here without any skin products and use your own products.
Once you are done, you need to clean the tool by spritzing it with isopropyl alcohol. They have a spray bottle but you have to put your own alcohol in it.
Are there any downsides?
The only thing I can say right now is the price… it’s not the cheapest tool in the world BUT it is the price of basically one facial!
You cannot share roller needle heads with other people since it technically punctures this skin you could spread things with other people.
You cannot roll over any active acne because it punctures the skin and you don’t want to spread that acne bacteria everywhere!
If you have other questions about derma rolling and microneedling, contact your dermatologist or doctor.
