Spring Table Decorating Idea

With the cherry trees blooming down here in Southern California (I’m not joking!), I have set up my table for the Spring.  I guess it’s Spring according to nature, I can make it Spring in my house!

Found these cute little bunnies at Pottery Barn last week.  They are supposed to be carrying eggs, but since the Easter bunny hasn’t been by yet, they are hauling roses from my garden. (Yes, my roses are blooming)

Isn’t this bunny cute??
One last look, lavender from the garden, roses from the garden… little madeleine pots, with a touch of purple.

Are you ready for Spring???  I bet you are, based on the weather reports for the rest of the country!  It’s currently 80 degrees down here, I have the windows open, listening to the birds chirping, and the snap peas in the back are growing like mad!  Ready to move???

Winter White & Silver Tablescape

For Winter this year, I set up a white and silver table.  I used my lanterns that usually sit on the counter in back and put them on the table.  Winter greens sit on top of them.

I set a table like this last year but never took a picture. The candles all glow at night and give off nice ambient light.

Even though it’s just my husband and me, I always set all six.  We usually sit at this end of the table for some reason!

Time to unveil my Christmas tablescape!  This year the theme was nutcrackers!  Not like The Nutcracker, but actual nutcrackers!
 Drumroll…

I couldn’t fit ALL my nutcrackers on the table since I have a narrow French farmhouse table, but this will do!

A view from the other side…

You can’t tell in the pictures, but the placemats are nutcracker placemats!  Here I took a picture without the charger and before I put the lights on…

I got sick of my pumpkin Thanksgiving tablescape.  So I made this one for Thanksgiving.

The pinecone is from my yard. I let it sit away from the bugs for 1 month before I brought it inside. Hopefully no spiders crawl out!

I printed off a name and used a gold pen to highlight the edges.  Simple but elegant.

Unfortunately I didn’t take very many pictures.  The centerpiece is just faux candles and birch candles.

Can you believe that it’s November?!  I am about ready to pull out my Christmas decor, but I didn’t want to throw out my cute mini pumpkins I purchased earlier.

I decided to add them to my table.

I like the white pumpkins on top of the plates.

Then I thought, oh! I could fold the napkin and set the pumpkin on top. Which way do you like better?

Then I played around and added an orange pumpkin. Orange seems more Halloween-y.  I prefer the white.

About time I say good bye to Fall and hello to Christmas decor!  So long, pumpkins! (Except for pumpkin pie for Thanksgiving, of course!)

I’ve had fun this year setting up my tablescape for this Fall and Halloween 2014.

New additions to the table setting include these wonderful napkins that my Mom made!  She got a new fancy sewing machine that allows her to do this fancy embroidery on it!  I picked the fabric out when I was 600 miles away from home… I think I did a good job guessing which purple would go best with the plates and goblets!

Look how great these napkins look!

Also found a set of new chargers from Homegoods.  I’m loving the look of everything with my velvet pumpkins, pumpkin napkin rings, and pumpkin plates!

Here’s a look of the pumpkins that are all in the center without any distractions of plates in the way!

I wanted to show a close up of one the plates… they are by Juliska.  There are four different scenes.  The one I focused on today for the Halloween table has witches dancing in the center.

Plates and goblets – Juliska

Charger – Homegoods

Napkins – MBM (made by Mom!)

Velvet pumpkins – Hot Skwash

Burlap placemats – etsy

Napkin rings – Pier 1 (they still have them there this year)

Oktoberfest-themed Tablescape!

Today I’m sharing with you my tablesetting I made for Oktoberfest!  Oktoberfest starts on September 20 this year.  Last year, I had the privilege to visit Germany during the start of the Oktoberfest.  What a sight to see!

I used my Bavarian nutcrackers in the center.  From left to right: an Oktoberfest salesman, a wine maker, and the Bavarian dressed up in full regalia.

Oktoberfest-themed table

The Oktoberfest themed nutcracker is seen closer here.  I printed off the Lebkuchenherzen (the gingerbread hearts) and placed them on top of each plate.

Oktoberfest themed party table setting

If you’ve been to Germany you would’ve noticed these little gingerbread hearts everywhere:

lebkuchenherzen

Now looking from the other side… another nutcracker comes into view.  You will also noticed scattered around the table I have little steins.

The steins are vintage.  Most people pick them up as souvenirs from their travels. I picked mine up at an estate sale.  Ironically, I’ve been to all the places that are featured on the little steins… and I didn’t have to lug them back in my suitcase and paid a fraction of the price! I call that a win-win!

close up

The official colors of Oktoberfest are blue and white.  However, since it is also a harvest festival, I thought using orange looked good and it compliments the blue.

One last look!

Last week I showed you my DIY MK placemats.  Now it’s time to show you my table setting which I totally love!

Courtly check tablescape

My napkin rings I made from another DIY project.  Check out how to make your own HERE. (Ironically I made those napkin rings a year ago!)  This platter we bought to use outside for the BBQ.  But I stole it for my centerpiece!

I love how the Juliska Country Estate plates go with the MK Courtly Check!

I had been wanting these candlesticks for a long time too.  When I made my napkin rings. I had leftover ribbon.  Since I didn’t have the candlesticks, I just tied bows around the faux-candles to get the look.  But this past Christmas DH surprised me with these candlesticks!

Love my candlesticks!

What’s been on your MK wishlist?

I’ve had my Summer tablescape up since, well, early May. However, down here it’s been feeling like Summer since April!

Let’s take a look at my French country table setting:

The dried lavender is from my parents’ garden. Smells great!
My Mother made me these great placemats quite some time ago.  I was putting the Easter green plates away and set one on top of these placemats, and, voila! Turns out the green looked really good on them!

I love this table we put together for Easter this year.

My mother picked up these cute napkin rings from William’s Sonoma. They are adorable! An Easter egg sits on top each napkin.

I placed the alabaster egg tree on the table. I love all of the color it brings!

Used some beautiful antique napkins.  The plates are from the Victoria & Albert museum. Some vintage German rabbits in the back ground.

Little Steiff animals sit on the table with some fresh daffodils my husband gave us both.

On the other side of the table is the Easter egg ornament tree.

I like this carrot ornament in front of the rabbit!

One last look!

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a Happy Easter!

I loved setting up this table for Easter.  Pink and green are my favorite colors, especially together, and this table has a nice blend of both!

Now, behold!

I found these little nests at one of my favorite stores, Roger’s Gardens.

These little Easter bunny salt and pepper shakers I found at Pottery Barn a few years ago. Aren’t they cute?

This was my first Easter bunny purchase, from Pottery Barn, almost 7 years ago!  I added a pretty pink ribbon to her neck.

The plates are by Bordallo Pinheiro.  There are two types of rabbit plates and a chicken plate. Hand me downs from my mom… her china cabinet was too full! Score for me!

Oooh, looks great with my new drapes!

I kept the pink mercury glass candles leftover from my Valentine’s Day tablescape.  I was setting out the Springtime stuff and putting the Valentine stuff away… and discovered that they looked good together!

Pretty Valentine’s Day Tablescape

We use affiliate links in our posts and our site. This means if you make a purchase using these links, we may earn a small commission. You don’t pay a cent more than you would otherwise! Our full disclosure is available under About.

One of the things I love about Valentine’s Day is the use of the color pink.  Pink is one of my favorite colors to wear so I am happy to see it widely used!

I made this pretty Valentine’s day tablescape.  I would have set it up for a table for two for my husband and I… but it looked so silly with only two place settings on such a big table I set it up for four just for looks.

A look during the daytime.  I used some vintage Valentine’s Day printouts I found online.  The heart cups my mother-in-law gave us at our rehearsal dinner!

The heart shaped candle holders I purchased from Crate and Barrel years ago. One of my first house decorating purchases in college actually!

The mercury glass candle holders are lined with pink on the inside and I just LOVE them. I LOVED them so much in fact that they were used to decorate the tables at my wedding!!

Here I light the candles… do you see why I love the pink mercury glass candles now?!  Don’t you just love the glow they create??  They created such a soft romantic glow at my wedding.  I find it appropriate to pull them out on Valentine’s Day, not only for the color but for memories!

Here I light the other candles too.  It’s so pretty.

oooh, ahhh…

One final shot. Too bad the printable Valentine’s didn’t show up too well on the camera.

Now for the cute Valentine’s printables…

The cherub holding the hearts is actually a printable bookmark I found here

I found the heart shaped printables  here

Do you have any tablescapes for Valentine’s Day? I’d love to see them!

Here is my Christmas tablescape I created!

I used 3 German pyramids, candles, berries from this Thanksgiving tablescape, my Juliska holiday ware, and tartan napkins.

I also added small Santa candles, a HomeGoods find, to make it without a doubt, a Christmas table.

A look at it during the day.

A look at 1 place setting.  I love how the snowmen are on the mugs and the plates.

Simple Thanksgiving Tablescape

I started opening up my Christmas storage bins and found my holly berry Christmas decorations.

And then I thought… ooh! This could make a great Thanksgiving tablescape.  So I put the pumpkins away (sorry velvet pumpkins… ’til next year!)

This tablescape is nice because you can leave it up after Thanksgiving, providing a nice transition into Christmastime!

Faux holly berry adorns the napkin

A simple, rustic theme… inspired by the outdoors.. birch candles… holly berries… burlap…

If you have a real holly berry bush (like my childhood home did) you could always use branches from that instead.

You could also use real cranberries too! Be careful though, they stain!

A Tablescape for Thanksgiving!

I had fun putting together this new tablescape I’ve made for Thanksgiving.

I’ve moved my Hot Skwash velvet pumpkins around…

And added a few more to the collection… Love this big purple one!!

I dug my favorite birch candles out of the closet!  They go well with the burlap placemats.

Love how the purples and greens match the glasses and the oranges and browns match the plates and placemats!

Don’t you love the stem of the pumpkin on the left?

Only problem is… where to put the Thanksgiving food?!  I guess that’s why they invented buffet tables, right?

Or… I might just have to re-decorate the table!!
